Hello, again! Did you miss me? I missed a LOT this past week or so - crazy busy! Anyway, here I am again with a couple of cards I managed to make in the midst of the madness:
The "ways to use it" challenge last Thursday was to use something from the kitchen to make a card. I broke out the lemon juice, used it to stamp a woodgrain background stamp on some Baked Brown Sugar cardstock, then blasted it with a heat gun so it would "burn" and show up! I stamped just the heart-shaped knot in the wood in Riding Hood Red on Ruby Red cardstock, then tore them out for embellishments. The beaver's name is Timber, and he's another of Stacey Yacula's creations (Purple Onion Designs). I've had a deckle-edge tearing ruler in my arsenal for quite some time that has NEVER been used, so I thought chewed-up-looking edges would be more appropriate for a beaver and tore them all with that ruler. A bit of marker (Bic and Prismacolor), an unknown sentiment and some added penned-in words, and that's all she wrote! The other cardstock colors are Naturals Ivory and Chocolate Chip (which is also the other ink color). All of the cardstock and ink is from Stampin'Up!
The other card was for last Sunday's Featured Stamper challenge, honoring Jean Manis. Here's the card I CASEd:
And my version:
I used a different die (Tim Holtz Reindeer Flight) and sentiment (Stampin'Up! Many Merry Messages). I also did a partial emboss (Sizzix/Basic Grey Snowglobe) instead of a stencil and embossing paste. I loved Jean's gallery enough to go to her blog and add it to the list of blogs that I follow. You can find it HERE.
I'd love to stay and chat more, but I'm drained from the week and need to go veg out for a bit... Thanks for stopping by, and hopefully I'll be around more this week!
