I hope the past week has treated you well, and that you didn't miss me too much (all three of you, lol)... I've been doing family stuff and that's more important than all of the other stuff, so I know that you will all excuse me, since you're cool like that...
I've made a few cards that I've added to my Splitcoast gallery, but never added here, so today I will post one of those:
One of the recent inspiration challenges was a Pinterest board of umbrellas, and this is what I was inspired to make. The board is HERE, and I used THIS one and THIS one to inform my design. I ran some Black Magic cardstock through my Big Shot with the heart embossing folder (Darice), then sanded it to reveal the red. Die cut a few clouds (The Cat's Pajamas Talk to Me dies) and stamped the sentiment on them (Stampin'Up! Vintage Vogue). The little girl and her umbrella are Pure Innocence (My Umbrella), and she's colored with colored pencils, using the Gamsol Magic technique. I added the polka dots on the umbrella with a Micron pen, and shaded it with a Prismacolor marker (I also shaded the clouds).
I'm kind of doing my cycle of "limbo/ennui" right now, so please forgive me if I'm not chatty and prolific for a minute - it never lasts long! Like the card says - life does, in fact, happen and love does, in fact, help! Wishing you lots of love for whatever life is sending you! Thanks for stopping by!
Count me as one of the three :). (I bet there are more :)! Schopenhauer said life is a pendulum swinging between boredom and pain. At the time, I thought the perspective had merit. But I think the middle fulcrum then is happiness- and I try try try try try to stay there when I can. Life has other ideas sometimes, though! Hope you shake it soon, sounds like you will and I hope you enjoy the respite meanwhile. Love your sweet rainy day girl - we are finally getting some much needed rain in Ca. Blessings, Lela

I love this card! Have not seen that embossing folder before, but I really like it with the technique and card stock you used. Take care. Sometimes we just need a bit of time to reset the compass.
